The above fellowship is intended for post-residency board certified orthopaedic surgeons. The fellowship has an option for a minimum of six months, and a maximum of one year. Successful applicants will be expected to become members of the NUH sports team involved in the day-to-day care of patients in the wards, outpatient clinics and operating theatres.
They will be exposed to and given hands-on training in the following:
- Arthroscopic surgery - knee, shoulder, elbow, hip and ankle
- Knee ligament reconstruction including multiligament surgery
- Knee preservation surgery; osteotomy, meniscus repair and reconstruction, cartilage restoration
- Single compartment knee replacements
- Shoulder and Elbow surgery; trauma, sports injuries, arthroscopy and arthroplasty
- Sports medicine, rehabilitation and return to sports
The fellow will also be expected to complete at least one research paper to be presented at a national level and published in a peer-reviewed journal. The pre-requisites are the ability to speak and write in English, reasonable computer skills and a pass on the IELTS exam. Applicants will be interviewed for consideration.
